Mike Coleman has a long, rich history with EuroMotorcars and Mercedes-Benz. He owned his first Mercedes-Benz, a 300E, in 1986 from an old Upper Darby dealership. Even back then, Mike was connected to EuroMotorcars Devon as Gerry Chandlee was his service advisor.
In 1989, he moved to Mercedes-Benz 300 turbo diesel, which he owned for three years. Between 1991 and 2008, Mike toyed with other brands and came back to Mercedes-Benz in August 2008, when he purchased a C300 4MATIC. He was so satisfied with his Mercedes-Benz that when it came time to replace the C300, he immediately went back to Mercedes-Benz for his next vehicle. He also started to replace his Lexus and become a true Mercedes-Benz owner. While looking for that precise vehicle, he was lucky enough to win the 2010 E-Class! And he is now truly a Mercedes-Benz owner and part of a one product family again.

What Does 30 Years Mean?
For Nick Scanniello, President of EuroMotorcars, 30 years means a lifetime of dedication to a company and vehicles which we were always proud to sell. With the advent of 2010, Nick will pass over the helm of leadership and retire with the knowledge that EuroMotorcars Bethesda will be managed confidently by his lifetime friend and colleague, Charlie Harmel.
Nick started in July 1979 as the General sales manager for EuroMotorcars Marlow Heights, which sold Mercedes-Benz, Audi and Subaru. Over the years, his job titles varied along with the brands we sold. He was General sales manager, sales manager, General manager, Partner in 1994 and then, finally, President in 2004. His presence here was always a constant, along with our firm commitment to the three pointed star. As other brands, such as Saab and Acura, came and went, Mercedes-Benz, like Nick, always remained strong.
His leadership, friendship and commitment cannot be replaced. His guidance sustained EuroMotorcars and reinforced the company's commitment to three ideals; courage, fairness and loyalty. Courage to commit to see projects and challenges through. Fairness to everyone you come into contact with and loyalty to the customer, employee, factory and all the people who travel with you.
Nick's full confidence in Charlie, Farokh and Phil leaves EuroMotorcars Bethesda, Germantown and Devon with determined leaders, committed to delivering the highest customer satisfaction and to our brands, Mercedes-Benz, Maybach, smart, Bentley and Rolls-Royce. We wish him well and hope that he fully enjoys his retirement.

Bentley Motors is staging an exclusive art auction at Bonhams, London, to raise money for The Christie, a specialist cancer centre in Manchester, which treats 40,000 patients a year and is an international leader in cancer research.
Bentley Styling and Design team have created individual pieces for auction, drawing on the skills and techniques utilised in their roles and their enthusiasm for art. The collection ranges from the traditional to the contemporary; sculptures set in bronze, wood, metal, and leather through to stunning palette knife and brush paintings on canvas, digital art and photography.

Charlie Harmel assumed leadership of EuroMotorcars Bethesda as the General Manager on July 1, 2009. Charlie has been with EuroMotorcars for over 30 years and we are very excited about his new position within the company.
Randy Merry has also been with EuroMotorcars for 25 years. As Charlie was promoted to General Manager, Randy Merry is now the General Sales Manager for New Vehicles. Randy was a top new vehicle Mercedes-Benz and Maybach salesman before taking on this great, new challenge!

NAVIGATION AND THE VOICE-OPERATED CONTROL SYSTEM: THE VOICES OF THE S-CLASS
Stuttgart – The latest generation of the LINGUATRONIC voice-operated control system is entering series production with the S-Class. Instead of saying the town and street separately as before, drivers can speak the desired destination as a single command – for example “Stuttgart, Epplestraße”.
The system immediately begins to work out the route, only pausing to enquire whether a house number is to be entered as well. In Germany, LINGUATRONIC understands around 80,000 town names and 470,000 street names entered in this way. This new, particularly convenient destination input works in six languages and more than 15 European countries.
A dialogue with LINGUATRONIC is practically a person-to-person affair. Around a dozen female speakers and one male speaker lent their voices to the S-Class, recording the individual words, phrases, numerical sequences and names which the system almost instantly joins together into easily understood information and instructions as the situation requires when interacting with the driver. The “voices of the S-Class” come from various European countries, where the ladies – and one man – concerned work for radio and TV stations or synchronising studios.
Scientists spent more than two decades working on the development of a computer-based voice recognition system. In 1996 Mercedes-Benz was the first automobile brand to offer such a system in a car – though initially only to operate the onboard telephone. Voice-operated control has come on in leaps and bounds since then: the times when town and street names had to be spelled out are long gone. When controlling the telephone, audio and navigation system, the latest version of LINGUATRONIC, which Mercedes-Benz offers in various model series, works on the principle of whole-word input.In the case of the S-Class, Mercedes engineers use the term “one-shot input” to describe the currently most advanced development stage of the system, wherethe town and street names can be spoken as a direct sequence.This new procedure currently works for the following languages and countries:

MERCEDES-BENZ CREATING HISTORICAL SILVER ARROW DISPLAY TO MARK 75TH ANNIVERSARY
Mercedes-Benz marks the 75th anniversary of its famed Silver Arrows at the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance when five original competition racecars, the largest historical display of Silver Arrows in the United States, take center stage at the Mercedes-Benz Star Lounge and the Concours’ famed 18th fairway from August 13-16, 2009.
The first races in which the Mercedes-Benz Silver Arrows competed, in Berlin and at the Nurburgring in late May and early June of 1934, marked the birth of the Silver Arrow legend and signaled a new era in chassis and engine innovation.
Between 1934-1936, the Mercedes-Benz W 25, borrowing from the luxury car model 380, set new automotive standards with its independent suspension and supercharged eight-cylinder in-line engine that produced 354 hp and in further development phases was boosted to 494 hp. The Mercedes-Benz W 25 Silver Arrow scored 16 victories in Grand Prix and other major international races setting off a new era in racing history.
The Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance and Mercedes-Benz Star Lounge feature five authentic Mercedes-Benz Silver Arrows including the W 25, two W 154s, a W 194 and a W 196 R Streamliner.
A viewing of the limited-edition 650 hp Mercedes-Benz McLaren SLR Stirling Moss at the Concours honors one of the greatest drivers of the Silver Arrow era, Sir Stirling Moss and the Mercedes-Benz 300 SLR Silver Arrow he piloted to numerous victories including the Mille Miglia and Targa Florio. The SLR Stirling Moss V8 supercharged engine accelerates from zero to 60 mph in less than 3.5 seconds, and has a top speed of 218 mph.
In addition to the Silver Arrows display, the Mercedes-Benz Star Lounge at Pebble Beach features an exhibit of nine generations of the E-Class, starting with generation one, the series 136 model 170 from 1947, to the Ponton of the 1950s and Fintail from the 1960s, up to the current ninth generation 212 series — 2010 E-Class and E63 AMG.
The E-Class heritage display demonstrates the long and successful evolution of Mercedes-Benz safety, comfort and quality innovations that culminate in the 212 series including Attention Assist — standard drowsy driving detection system — and options such as Lane Keeping Assist and Pre-Safe brake system.
In another comparison of vintage to modern luxury, a 1932 Maybach Zeppelin DS 8, one of the most famous models in the line-up of international luxury cars — a twelve-cylinder car that was built between 1930 and 1937 — is set along side a ,2010 Maybach Zeppelin equipped with a V12 engine that produces 631 hp. This luxury saloon is one of only 100 production models available, making it one of the world’s most exclusive vehicles on the market.

2010 Mercedes-Benz S-Class Revealed
After three years of the current S-Class, Mercedes-Benz is launching the restyled 2010 S-Class in August. With the very latest technology for even greater safety, as well as trailblazing innovations in comfort and drive technology, the Mercedes-Benz flagship is reasserting its leading position as the brand’s innovation platform and benchmark for luxury sedans.
In the 2010 S-Class, Mercedes-Benz has improved the renowned safety level even further with a unique combination of innovative camera and radar-based driver assistance systems. These include Adaptive Highbeam Assist, Lane Keeping Assist and the PRE-SAFE® brake system linked to the proximity regulating radar, which intervenes autonomously before an impending rear-end collision and acts like an invisible crumple zone. Other innovations in the 2010 S-Class include the ATTENTION ASSIST driver drowsiness monitor and Active Body Control with automatic crosswind stabilization.
The new S400 HYBRID is also celebrating its debut. As the first series-production Mercedes-Benz passenger car with hybrid drive, this S-Class model is the world’s most economical luxury car with a gasoline engine. Its estimated combined fuel consumption of 29 miles per gallon sets a new worldwide benchmark in this vehicle segment.
“The S400 HYBRID is a major milestone on our road towards emission-free mobility”, says Dr. Dieter Zetsche, Chairman of Daimler AG and CEO of Mercedes-Benz Cars. “Our first series-production hybrid passenger car exemplifies the long-term, sustainability-oriented development strategy of Mercedes-Benz, which has a clearly defined aim: economical and environmentally compatible premium automobiles, with no compromises in terms of safety, comfort and a superior driving experience.” The S400 HYBRID is also a trailblazer where energy storage is concerned: the new luxury sedan is the first series production car in the world to be equipped with the very latest lithium-ion battery technology. “In this way the S-Class and the Mercedes-Benz brand are doing important pioneering work for the electrification of the automobile.”
The new hybrid model combines a low fuel consumption and a high level of environmental compatibility with superior performance: the internal combustion engine and the hybrid module develop a combined output of 295 hp, and a combined maximum torque of 284 lb-ft. (The electric motor contributes 20 hp and 118 lb-ft to the powertrain).
With 270,000 units sold world-wide since its launch, the W 221-series S-Class is the world’s most successful luxury sedan, and seamlessly continues the success story of the flagship model in the Mercedes-Benz lineup. Since 1951, when the model 220 began the direct lineage of the S-Class, Mercedes-Benz has delivered around 3.3 million passenger cars from this model series to customers.
The U.S. line-up includes the S400 HYBRID, the 382-hp V8-powered S550 and all-wheel-drive S550 4MATIC as well as the high-performance 518-hp S63 AMG. V12 offerings include the 510-hp S600 and the top-of-the-line 604-hp S65 AMG. The 2010 S-Class will be in U.S. showrooms beginning in August.
Unique combination of driver assistance systems
An absolutely unique combination of ultra-modern assistance and protection systems is available for the 2010 S-Class. Many of these systems are also available for the new E-Class, which debuts this summer. The new assistance systems turn the models in the E and S-Class into “intelligent” partners for their driver. The car is able to “see”, “feel”, respond reflexively and act autonomously to prevent accidents or mitigate their effects. Mercedes-Benz also uses cameras in these systems – these are able to look well ahead, monitor the car’s surroundings and interpret typically critical situations. One example is the optional Adaptive Highbeam Assist. This system recognizes oncoming or leading vehicles and then controls the headlamps to ensure the best possible beam range without dazzling other drivers on the road.
The Sindelfingen-based engineers have also developed Night View Assist further – Night View Assist PLUS is equipped with a special pedestrian detection function: as soon as the system detects pedestrians ahead of the car, they are highlighted on the display to make it easier for the driver to see them.
Lane Keeping Assist is another system that “looks ahead” for even safer driving. The system’s computer is able to recognize lane markings by evaluating the contrasting images of the road surface and the markings. If the vehicle leaves the lane unintentionally, the driver is warned by short vibrations of the steering wheel. Unlike conventional systems of this kind, the Mercedes-Benz system is able to evaluate the driver’s activities as well and can reliably ascertain whether the car is leaving its lane intentionally or not. Therefore, there is no warning if the driver accelerates before overtaking or merging onto a highway, brakes heavily, or enters a curve.
Drowsiness detection on the basis of more than 70 parameters
With the driver drowsiness monitor, ATTENTION ASSIST, the 2010 S-Class has very sensitive monitors for the attention level of its driver and can warn them in time when they becomes drowsy. This innovative technology continuously monitors more than 70 different parameters. Once the high-resolution steering angle sensor recognizes the steering behavior that typically indicates the onset of drowsiness, a warning signal is sounded and “ATTENTION ASSIST. Time for a break!” appears in the instrument cluster.
Mercedes-Benz has also improved the long and medium-range radar used by Brake Assist PLUS and DISTRONIC PLUS adaptive cruise control. Both systems assist the driver during emergency braking. If the driver is distracted and fails to recognize the immediate danger of a rear-end collision, the PRE-SAFE®Brake is able to intervene and brake the vehicle independently. For the 2010 S-Class the developers in Sindelfingen have improved this system even further: if the driver fails to react even after an acoustic and visual warning, the PRE-SAFE®Brake is able to activate the maximum braking pressure around 0.6 seconds before what is now recognized as an unavoidable accident — an emergency braking action that can significantly mitigate the severity of the impact. The system therefore acts as something like an “electronic crumple zone”.
Detailed fine-tuning has also given the 2010 S-Class better driving dynamics and agility. This is in large measure due to the new electro-hydraulic Direct-Steer system, where the ratio varies with the steering angle.
New: Active Body Control (ABC) compensates for crosswinds
Mercedes-Benz developers have also added a crosswind stabilization function to Active Body Control (ABC) suspension. For this purpose ABC uses the yaw rates and lateral acceleration sensors of the Electronic Stability Program ESP® to vary the wheel load distribution via the ABC spring struts, depending on the direction and intensity of the crosswind. This enables the effects of crosswinds to be compensated, or reduced to a minimum in the case of strong gusts.
S400 HYBRID: the world’s most economical gasoline-engined luxury sedan
The 2010 S-Class also plays a pioneering role where its drive system is concerned: “The modular hybrid concept sets the new standard for efficient, clean and superior motoring pleasure in all vehicle segments, and is therefore a driving force for the premium automobile of the future”, says Dr. Thomas Weber, the member of the Daimler AG Executive Board responsible for corporate research and development at Mercedes-Benz Cars.
The new S400 HYBRID is the first car to be designed on the basis of the highly intelligent modular concept developed by Mercedes-Benz to give its customers the best hybrid solution for their requirements. The S400 HYBRID, which is a true technological trendsetter with this concept, features all the necessary components:
* a compact yet powerful electric motor* the accompanying operating electronics* a modern lithium-ion storage battery with a high capacity.
The compact hybrid module combines the hybrid functions of an automatic start-stop system and energy recuperation. In several respects this means that the S400 HYBRID sets a new standard in its class, making it the world’s most economical luxury sedan with a gasoline engine. Dr. Thomas Weber: “This demonstrates that Mercedes-Benz is able to combine sustainable mobility with the claim of automotive premium positioning – with vehicles that are efficient and environmentally compatible, without having to accept compromises in terms of safety, comfort and superior driving refinement. At the same time the S400 HYBRID dispels the myth that sustainable mobility is only possible with small cars.”
The combined fuel economy for the S400 HYBRID is estimated at 29 miles per gallon, a 30-percent increase over the S550.
This figure is accompanied by a truly superior performance potential: the modified 3.5-liter gasoline engine develops 275 hp, while the electric motor generates 20 hp and a starting torque of 118 lb-ft.
The new Mercedes-Benz S400 HYBRID is based on a V6 version of the S-Class and features an extensively modified drive train. This encompasses a further development of the 3.5-litre V6 petrol engine, an additional magneto-electric motor, the 7G-TRONIC seven-speed automatic transmission specially configured for the hybrid module, the necessary operating and control electronics, the transformer and a high-voltage lithium-ion battery.
During braking the electric motor acts as a generator and is able to recover kinetic energy by a process known as recuperation. During this process the electric motor works together seamlessly with the engine brake of the internal combustion engine and the conventional wheel brakes. The recuperated energy is stored by a compact but efficient lithium-ion battery in the engine compartment and retrieved when required. Major advantages over conventional nickel/metal hydride batteries include a higher energy density and greater electrical efficiency combined with more compact dimensions and a low battery weight. Thanks to space-saving installation in the engine compartment, the trunk capacity and generous interior dimensions remain unchanged. The hybrid module also has aconvenient start-stop function.
Comfort: the latest multimedia technology
With its 6.5-inch color display screen, the standard COMAND system with GPS navigation has been refined with a forty-gigabyte hard drive as well as an integrated six-disc CD-DVD player and a Music Register for around 1,000 MP3 tracks. HD Digital Radio and Zagat Restaurant ratings are also available.
A new media interface makes it easier than ever to connect an iPod, USB stick, memory card and other devices. Music tracks can be indicated on the COMAND display located on the center console as well as a smaller display in the center of the instrument cluster and they can be selected with the buttons on the multi-function steering wheel.
Any Bluetooth-enabled cell phone will work hands-free – even with the phone in a pocket or purse, the audio is automatically muted when a call is made or received and callers are heard over the audio system speakers. In addition, phone book info can be displayed by the COMAND system.
Design: a muscular, self-assured presence
The modified design reflects the effortless superiority and power of the S-Class sedan. It is characterized by the more pronounced arrow-shape of the radiator grille, plus a new front bumper with a discreet light-catching contour and a chrome strip below the cooling air intakes. Exhaust tailpipes of all S-Class variants are visibly integrated into the rear bumper. The headlamps incorporate bi-xenon technology and LED indicators on the lower edge of the headlamp as standard. Eye-catching highlights on the S400 HYBRID are provided by the two round foglamps and daytime driving lights on each side of the front bumper. Their location at the outer edges of the bumper underlines the muscular character of the S400 HYBRID.
An even more dynamic look is provided by the Premium 1 package, which is standard on the majority of the model line and includes striking LED arrays for daytime driving lights, indicators and marker lights. They lend an unmistakable day-and-night design to the front end. The rear end is characterized by tail lights in an innovative LED design. Here too, a total of 52 LEDs in the form of a double-C form an unmistakable light signature.
Mercedes-Benz also makes more use of light as a styling element in the interior via the standard ambient lighting, now with a choice between three lighting moods: solar (amber), neutral (white) and polar (ice-blue).
Interior: carefully selected materials and first-class finishing
The multifunction steering wheel of the S-Class has also been modified by the Mercedes-Benz designers: the rim and airbag module are lined with soft premium leather as standard. The new, flatter airbag module also lends a sporty touch to the multifunction steering wheel. Mercedes-Benz engineers have also implemented specific aerodynamic measures to reduce wind noise, which also contributes to greater traveling comfort.

This dynamic sports saloon with day-to-day suitability is the top-of-the-line E-Class model, offering an impressive combination of outstanding performance, exhilarating driving dynamics and a technology transfer from the SL 63 AMG high-performance Roadster.The new E 63 AMG distinguishes itself from the regular E-Class models with the powerful AMG 6.3-litre V8 engine, the completely newly developed AMG RIDE CONTROL sports suspension with electronically controlled damping and a new front axle, and with its autonomous exterior and interior design. Newly developed ceramic composite brakes are also available as an option for the top-of-the-line E-Class model . Mercedes-AMG has achieved a reduction in fuel consumption of almost twelve percent for the new E 63 AMG, thanks to the concerted use of fuel-efficiency measures. With its unique combination of pioneering driver assistance systems, the E 63 AMG further consolidates the brand’s leading position in the field of automotive safety.
The AMG 6.3-litre V8 engine in the new E 63 AMG develops an output of 386 kW/525 hp and a torque of 630 newton metres, matching the outstanding figures for the SL 63 AMG. The high-performance Roadster has also donated its AMG SPEEDSHIFT MCT 7-speed sports transmission to the new model. This transmission dispenses with a conventional torque converter and uses a compact, wet start-up clutch. In conjunction with the four individual drive modes, the double-declutching and Race Start functions, the resulting direct connection to the powertrain allows an extremely emotional and highly dynamic driving experience.
The drive unit is unique in this segment, and ensures decidedly sporty performance figures: the E 63 AMG accelerates from standstill to 100 km/h in just 4.5 seconds, with a top speed of 250 km/h (electronically limited). The high-revving, naturally aspirated engine with a displacement of 6208 cc impresses with its agile responsiveness, muscular power delivery and great flexibility. The newly composed AMG V8 sound is a thrilling accompaniment for mile after mile, while the smooth-running engine guarantees typical Mercedes long-distance comfort. A newly designed water cooling system ensures maximum endurance even under the enormous dynamic stresses of the racetrack.
Fuel consumption cut by almost twelve percent
Despite 8 kW/11 hp of additional output versus the preceding model, the fuel consumption of the new E 63 AMG has been significantly reduced: at 12.6 litres of super-premium grade petrol per 100 kilometres (NEDC combined consumption), the fuel consumption of the E 63 AMG is almost twelve percent lower than before, and leads the field among sports saloons developing more than 377 kW/500 hp. This progress has been made possible by a package of efficiency-enhancing measures. These include on-demand delivery of fuel and alternator management with recuperation of braking energy on the overrun, both of which are standard in the new E 63 AMG. In-engine friction is also reduced by the AMG-exclusive twin-wire arc spray coating process used on the cylinder walls.
The AMG SPEEDSHIFT MCT 7-speed sports transmission also makes a decisive contribution to fuel economy: a wet start-up clutch running in an oil bath replaces the previous torque converter. This unit responds extremely rapidly, dynamically and without the losses typical of a torque converter transmission thanks to its low rotational inertia. The transmission is equipped with four drive modes: “C” (Controlled Efficiency), “S” (Sport), “S+” (Sport plus) and “M” (Manual), which can be selected using a rotary electronic switch in the AMG DRIVE UNIT. Partial suppression of individual cylinders by interrupting ignition and injection briefly during gearshifts under full load leads to considerably faster shift times. In M mode the AMG SPEEDSHIFT MCT 7-speed sports transmission allows gearshifts to be performed in 100 milliseconds.
In the even more fuel-efficient drive mode Controlled Efficiency, the transmission shifts the gears decidedly smoothly, and the transmission control unit is programmed to perform early upshifts to keep engine speeds as low as possible. At the same time the AMG SPEEDSHIFT MCT 7-speed sports transmission meets the most demanding requirements where driving dynamics are concerned: fast, spontaneous multiple downshifts ensure first-class agility in conjunction with the automatic double-declutching and Race Start functions: this enables the E 63 AMG driver to call on the maximum acceleration potential automatically.
Electronically controlled damping system and a new front axle
Sporty or more comfort-oriented? The driver of the new Mercedes-Benz E 63 AMG is not obliged to accept any compromises in this respect. The AMG RIDE CONTROL sports suspension copes equally well with the agile manoeuvres of the racetrack and more comfortable, sedate driving. High performance and typical Mercedes long-distance comfort go together as an extraordinary synthesis in the E 63 AMG. This is made possible by the likes of the newly developed AMG RIDE CONTROL sports suspension. While new steel spring struts are used on the front axle, the rear suspension features AMG-specific air springs. The advantage of this solution, which is exclusive to AMG, is that the front steel spring struts ensure more sensitive responses while the rear air struts with their automatic level control system keep the vehicle at a constant height irrespective of the load.
A new, electronically controlled damping system automatically varies the damping characteristics according to the driving situation, reducing the roll angle of the body. The result is instant adjustment to provide the best possible ride comfort together with the greatest possible agility. In addition the driver is able to choose between the three suspension modes of Comfort, Sport and Sport plus at the touch of a button. The E 63 AMG is also equipped with a newly developed, dedicated front axle with a 56-millimetre wider track, a tubular stabiliser, new control arms, new wheel bearings, new elastokinematics and new hub carriers for more negative camber – thereby providing more grip when taking bends at speed. The AMG-specific kinematics also ensure significantly more precision. This is a highly sophisticated axle design whose principle has already proved its worth in the C 63 AMG. The rear axle likewise has more negative camber, optimised elastokinematics and a new subframe mounting for greater stability at the physical limits.
Newly developed power steering and individual 3-stage ESP®
For more direct responsiveness, the speed-sensitive rack-and-pinion steering is also a new development. The steering ratio of 14 : 1 is 22 percent more direct than in the standard production models, while a more rigid steering column plus the reconfigured characteristic mapping of the speed-sensitive servo assistance ensure better steering precision and improved road contact.
The 3-stage ESP® familiar from the SL 63 AMG and C 63 AMG enables individual settings to be selected – with clear benefits in terms of driving pleasure combined with the same, high level of handling safety. The ESP® button in the AMG DRIVE UNIT allows the driver to choose between “ESP ON”, “ESP SPORT” and “ESP OFF” – with the currently active mode shown in the central display of the AMG instrument cluster. Perfect deceleration even when driving extremely briskly is ensured by the AMG high-performance braking system with 360-millimetre, internally ventilated and perforated brake discs all-round. Particularly resistant, motorsports-tested composite technology is used at the front axle. The newly developed, optional ceramic composite brakes with larger brake discs guarantee even better brake performance and lower unsprung masses. The ceramic brake discs will perform reliably at even higher operating temperatures thanks to their greater hardness, all combined with an impressive weight reduction of around 40 percent. Outstanding grip is ensured by the 18-inch AMG light-alloy wheels with a width of nine and 9.5 inches and mixed tyre sizes of 255/40 R 18 at the front and 285/35 R 18 at the rear.
Decidedly dynamic interior and exterior
The decidedly dynamic design of the E 63 AMGis fully in keeping with the uncompromisingly sporty technology. The front aspect is characterised by 17-millimetre wider wings bearing “6.3 AMG” lettering, the new AMGfront apron with large intake air apertures and the AMG-specific daytime driving lights in LED technology. In conjunction with the optional Intelligent Light System, the E 63 AMG is equipped with tinted main headlamps. The striking visual presence is further enhanced by the AMG side sill panels and AMG rear apron with a black insert. As a hallmark of the brand, the AMG sports exhaust system has two newly designed, chrome-plated twin tailpipes.
The newly designed interior of the E 63 AMG is an exciting blend of high-grade materials and functional sportiness. Exclusive features include the dedicated, electrically adjustable AMG sports seats with improved lateral support and the AMG sports steering wheel in a four-spoke design with AMG shift paddles. The AMG DRIVE UNIT provides adjustments for the MCT sports transmission, the ESP functions, the suspension set-up and the AMG drive modes. The AMG E-SELECT selector lever in the centre console is a completely new feature for the DRIVE UNIT. The driver can shift directly between R, N and D simply by nudging the lever, all thanks to drive-by-wire; P can only be selected by pressing a button. Standard equipment also includes high-grade leather upholstery in three different colours, the AMG instrument cluster with an AMG main menu, door entry sills with AMG lettering and a sports pedal cluster – both in brushed stainless steel.

The Ghost
EuroMotorcars Rolls-Royce is now taking orders for the all new Rolls-Royce Ghost, which will be unveiled at the Frankfurt motor show in September. Rolls-Royce Corporate has announced that the base price for this exciting new vehicle is $245,000, which exceeds our expectations! Rolls-Royce will begin production in September of this year. The Ghost will be available for viewing at the St. Michaels Concourse de Elegance, September 25 – 27, or here in our Bethesda showroom, September 28 – 29.
Rolls-Royce Motor Cars Chief Executive Officer, Tom Purves, said, “Ghost is not about a single superlative but rather a careful blend of attributes. A Rolls-Royce should carry its power with grace, agility and refinement and this is never achieved by a focus on outright performance. Mastery comes in creating a balance and having driven the Ghost again recently I can say confidently that our engineering team has achieved this in fine style”.
The Ghost will be powered by a brand new 6.6 litre turbo charged V12 engine unique to Rolls-Royce. This engine will produce 563 bhp, delivering a 0-60 mph time of 4.7 seconds and a governed top speed of 155 mph. The engine is combined with an 8-speed automatic ZF gearbox. It will ride on an intelligent four corner air suspension system using multi link aluminum front and rear axles. The fully integrated system allows each of the Ghost’s dynamic handling systems to work together in harmony, providing the optimum levels of refinement and comfort at all times.

smart "Cash for Clunkers"
With the smart "Cash for Clunkers" program, smart is helping Americans replace older, i.e. less fuel efficient, vehicles with more fuel efficient and environmentally friendly vehicles. And the smart fortwo is the vehicle that meets this requirement of the Car Allowance Rebate System (CARS), or "Cash for Clunkers".
As the number "1" U.S. brand in fuel efficiency, smart is the only brand that already exceeds the Obama Administration's 2016 CAFE requirement which mandates a fleet average of 35.5 mpg. The smart fortwo is the most fuel efficient, non-hybrid, vehicle on sale in the U.S. at 41 mpg. The smart fortwo is certified as an Ultra Low Emissions Vehicle (ULEV) by the California Air Resources Board and is an Environmental Protection Agency "SmartWay" vehicle which recognizes its low greenhouse gas and air pollutant scores.
Under the CARS program guidelines, the smart fortwo will qualify for the highest credit level of $4,500 upon the trade in of an eligible vehicle. When this credit amount is applied to the purchase of a new smart fortwo, qualified customers could receive payments as low as $99 per month*.
